Barbara Burdette, Instructor
Barbara has a lot of experience as a horsewoman and working toward her certification as a PATH Intl certified instructor. She has owned horses and has experience in vaulting and polo. She also loves riding in the mountains as often as she can! She is a recent graduate from University of Southern California. This has a huge capacity for love and understanding our riders and we are delighted to have her on our team.
Jan Eddy-Languein, Equine Manager
Jan has had a life-time of experience with horses. She has ridden almost every style of horseback riding, she has showed, judged, trained, taught and taken care of horses. In addition to being on staff as our Equine Manager, Jan is also a volunteer instructor using her beautiful horses - Poncho and Casper.
Robin Rappaport, Certified Instructor
Robin has been riding horses her whole life and has enjoyed the excitement of competition, thrills of cross-country jumping and pleasures of trail riding. After years in the investment world, Robin had the opportunity to combine her love of horses with her love of working with children and became a PATH Intl certified instructor. As an instructor, Robin has observed enormous improvement, both physically and emotionally, in children and adults with special needs through therapeutic riding.
Katie Robison, Instructor
Katie has been riding horses since she was very young, and loves what she has learned from them - patience, discipline and confidence. Katie has ridden English and Western modes, but recently she has loved getting out on the trail. She has been an elementary school teacher for the past seven years and is so excited to mix her passion for teaching with her passion for horses. She is working on her PATH Intl certification.
Angela Sherman, Ph.D, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Equine Specialist and PATH Intl Certified Instructor
Angela, as Clinical Psychologist (license PSY 23689) has extensive experience working with individuals with behavioral and emotional difficulties as well as learning and autism spectrum disorders. She is EAGALA certified, PATH Intl certified and operates her own private practice. She has taught in many therapeutic riding centers, has presented at PATH Intl conferences and has a lifelong love of horses currently owning three geldings, one of which is a retired therapeutic riding horse.
Tedi Tate, Equine Specialist and PATH Intl Certified Instructor
Tedi is an EAGLA certified equine specialist, and she is also a PATH Intl certfied registered instructor. She has been practicing Equine Assisted Growth and Learning for five years. Her EAGLA certification as an Equine Specialist has allowed her to combine her lifelong desire to work with both horses and humans in a way that benefits. Tedi serves military families in her Equine Faciliated Psychotherapy work both with us and with Warhorse Alliance.
Pat UpdeGraff, Office Manager (Volunteer)
Pat as our Office Manager is always at the ranch ready to greet you and show you the ropes! She has many years experience with the practices and procedures of all aspects of a therapeutic riding program. She has an Appaloosa mare who she trained from two years of age. Pat has worked in the field as a volunteer and then as staff since 1968. She was Show Manager of CALNET, which registered 100 - 150 riders, for ten years.
William UpdeGraff, Executive Director (Volunteer)
Bill has many years experience in the therapeutic horseback riding world. He began in 1968 volunteering at the center where his disabled daughter was riding, and has been volunteering at therapeutic riding programs ever since! He rescued a Quarter horse cross in 2001 and has been trained her both in trail riding and therapeutic riding. He has 23 years experience as an official at CALNET; he's officiated at the ETI Coral 54 Trail Trials, and in 2006 judged at the Special Olympics.
